Studiamo ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal data of our users ("you"). This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, disclosed, and safeguarded when you visit or use studiamo.cloud and our active recall spaced repetition application.
2. Information We Collect
- Account Information: When you register or sign in via Google Single Sign-On (SSO), we collect your verified email address, display name, and unique authentication identifier.
- Study & Learning Progress Data: Active recall quiz attempts, Spaced Repetition System (SRS) intervals, review histories, study streaks, and earned experience points (XP).
- User Content: Study materials, notes, or YouTube URLs submitted for active recall question generation.
- Waitlist Information: When you join our pre-launch waitlist, we collect your email address, hosting preference, referring page, approximate country (from your network provider), and browser user agent.
3. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used strictly to:
- Deliver personalized active recall quizzes and calculate optimal Spaced Repetition review timing.
- Display optional leaderboard rankings (which can be toggled to anonymous at any time in Profile settings).
- Process AI flashcard generation through secure Google Gemini API interfaces.
4. Third-Party Services & Sub-Processors
Used for secure Single Sign-On authentication and Gemini AI quiz question generation.
Used to fetch video metadata, thumbnails, and study video recommendations.
Privacy-focused, cookie-free web analytics respecting user anonymity.
Database hosting (EU, Frankfurt) for account and study data on the cloud version.
Merchant of Record for subscriptions (Sold through Link, LLC, USA). Handles checkout, payment and invoicing. Receives your email address and billing details directly. We never see or store your card data.
Transactional and waitlist email delivery.
YouTube API Services & Google Data: Studiamo uses YouTube API Services to retrieve public video metadata (video titles, creator/channel names, duration, and thumbnail images), search educational video suggestions, and render in-app video study players. By using these features, you acknowledge that public YouTube data is accessed in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy. You can manage or revoke access to your Google account permissions at any time via the Google Security Settings page.
Subscription data we store consists only of your subscription status, renewal and end dates, and the identifiers Lemon Squeezy uses for your customer and subscription records. No payment card details are transmitted to or held by us at any point.
5. Cookies We Use
We only use cookies that are strictly necessary to provide a service you've explicitly requested (like signing in), never for advertising, cross-site tracking, or profiling. Because of that, these don't require a cookie-consent banner under applicable law (TTDSG §25(2) / ePrivacy Directive Art. 5(3)), but we're listing them here for transparency:
Keeps you signed in. HttpOnly (not readable by JavaScript). Expires when you log out or after a long period of inactivity.
Lets the interface show which account is active. Works alongside the session cookie above.
Temporary (24 hours). Holds a referral code so a friend's invite is credited if you sign up after clicking their link. Contains no personal data.

Under applicable privacy regulations (including GDPR), you have the right to access, export, or request deletion of your personal data at any time. You can toggle anonymous leaderboard visibility or modify profile preferences in your account Settings.
